Charlotte Chapter PCEA John T. Ball Memorial Scholarship


This scholarship was established in memory of John T. Ball to recognize and support students pursuing study within the Civil Engineering Technology Program who further desire to enter the construction industry.

This scholarship was made possible by the generous contribution of the Charlotte Chapter of the Professional Construction Estimators Association of America, Inc.

Typical Award Amount*: $1500

*Award amount represents an average of the last three years' awards and future awards are subject to the availability of funds.

Application Deadline Date: March 15, 2018

Scholarship Criteria

  • Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid
  • Junior or Senior
  • GPA = 3.00-4.00
  • Demonstrated excellent academic achievement
  • Full Tme

Charlotte PCEA Scholarship CPCC Fund


The Charlotte Professional Construction Estimators Association (PCEA) and Central Piedmont Community College Foundation, Inc. have entered into a special scholarship partnership to benefit students enrolled at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC).

The PCEA Scholarship CPCC Fund has been established to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students on an annual basis.

This Scholarship will pay full tuition and books to in-state students, up to the full amount of funds available.

The Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to CPCC for the items indicated above for students meeting the criteria outlined in this document.

The $1,000 annual Scholarship is for first year students only with $500 each at $250 per semester to a student enrolled in any of the Trades Programs at Harper Campus and to a student enrolled in the Construction Institute. Students are to be encouraged to attend at least one meeting annually of the Professional Construction Estimators Association.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Be a student taking a minimum of 6 semester hours at Central Piedmont Community College.
  • Must be enrolled in any construction related Trades Program and a second student enrolled in the Construction Institute.
  • Have financial need as determined by CPCC.
  • GPA = 3.00-4.00
  • Maintain a minimum of a 2.5 grade-point average.

Selection Method


Recipients will be selected by the CPCC Financial Aid Department.

Award

The term of the award will be up to one academic year. Awards are paid at the beginning of each session through the issuance of a CPCC voucher for tuition and books.

PCEA - Charlotte Chapter No. 1
Dependent Scholarship Application

 

The member dependent scholarship awards scholarships of $1000.00 to deserving high school seniors and college undergraduates who are dependents of active Charlotte Chapter PCEA members in good standing.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Legal dependents and grandchildren of Charlotte Chapter members in good standing.
  • College student in the current academic year or having college acceptance for admission..
  • Provide copies of current high school or college transcripts.
  • 1 page essay about applicant including future plans and some of the applicant’s personal philosophy.
  • Completed application form.
  • Personal references from 3 unrelated individuals who will comment on the applicant’s character, motivation, potential, and ability.

Selection Method

The scholarship applications are sent to the scholarship chairperson who will blank out all names and convene with the scholarship committee to vote on recipient(s).   The number of scholarships given in a year depends on the amount of money in the Dependent Scholarship account which will always hold a balance of at least $1000.00.

Student Member Scholarship Application

PCEA - National Scholarships
Ted G. Wilson Scholarship Application


The Ted G. Wilson Memorial Scholarship is available to all students (High School Seniors and above) that plan to further their education in the construction industry. Only those that are a resident of, or plan to attend a school or university in the states where PCEA has an established Chapter will qualify. At present, those states are North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Florida. The Scholarship is funded, in part, by the Order of Isosceles Fellowship.
